For the 5th consecutive year BayRadio has launched its Christmas appeal to help bring some joy to underprivileged children. This year the appeal has got bigger as BayRadio will be helping two Children’s Homes – the Preventorio in Gandia to the north and the Vera Orphanage to the south, reflecting the growth in the area where BayRadio broadcasts. This means that over 70 children between the ages of 3 and 13 will receive gifts and support.
With the current economic climate the numbers of children in care in the Children’s Homes has increased, so we are appealing to our listeners to buy one extra present this year for a child and to take it to one of the drop off points listed below or to give a cash donation for much needed clothing and maintenance such as providing gas for heating and helping with utility bills over the winter period.
BayRadio has organised a Christmas party for the children at the Jávea Football Ground on 13th of December where they will be given their presents by Santa and enjoy a day of entertainment and fun. Last year our Christmas appeal helped to buy presents and clothing for all of the children plus provide gas for heating and installing a new industrial tumble dryer in the Preventorio in Gandia.
