Drivers who let children ride in cars without wearing a seatbelt slammed by DGT

The DGT has slammed drivers who do not make children passengers wear seatbelts, after the latest safety campaign by the Guardia Civil.

Nearly 200 children were discovered to be in a vehicle without wearing a seatbelt during the week long nationwide campaign.

In total 330,000 vehicles were monitored, with 3,183 drivers stopped for not using the safety device – the majority on back roads and not on the main road network. They can expect prosecution for not using a seat belt.
