Ryanair moving aircraft parts from UK to Europe to stop custom delays in event of hard Brexit

BayRadio | March 5, 2019

Budget Irish airline Ryanair is moving some of its aircraft spare parts from the UK to other EU locations amid concerns over customs restrictions in the event of a hard Brexit.

The low-cost carrier is taking the precautionary measure moving some parts from their Stansted maintenance hub to Europe so that they can get spares to airports quickly when needed and avoid any customs delays.

Ryanair’s director of maintenance, Karsten Muehlenfeld, explained the move telling the German news agency DPA: “We are concerned that it may take longer to get spare parts to the airports when we need them quickly from the Stansted storage centre.”
