Carnaval on the Cumbre:  A Celebration of One School/One Site

BayRadio | March 13, 2019

On Saturday 23 March, a long awaited celebration will be taking place on the Cumbre of Benitachell when the amazing new-look Lady Elizabeth School will celebrate its official opening with a magical carnival for the whole School and local community.
The Lady Elizabeth School has been igniting and inspiring young minds since the school´s opening some 31 years ago when it began as a family-centered place of learning on the naya of an old farm house in Javea – Alicante, Spain for less than 10 children. When you look at the stunning new campus today, it is hard to believe how it has grown and developed
from such humble beginnings to become the school of choice for this region.
For many years it was separated into two sections, Primary and Secondary – on two different sites in Benitachell and Llíber. With the significant visionary planning and a major investment by the School´s owners, International Schools Partnership Limited, these two sections have finally been joined once again. This allows for a real continuity of education
from Nursery through to Sixth Form in a thriving learning community of well over 1,030 pupils, supported and led by over 200 teachers and support staff, as well as their devoted and helpful parents.
To celebrate this ¨fresh start¨ for The Lady Elizabeth Community, a Grand Opening Committee has been formed to organise a once-in-a-lifetime memorable event to mark this special moment in the School´s history. Head of School, Chris Akin is delighted to be welcoming everyone to join in the celebrations. “We are delighted to be celebrating this
important milestone in the rich and vibrant history of the Lady Elizabeth School.  A school born with such ambitions has matured through the years, educating and inspiring countless children led by caring and passionate educators and staff, and now we sit, perched on this lovely Cumbre del Sol, overlooking this incredible view, to a fantastic future of learning and growth as LES moves into our next chapter”. The Lady Elizabeth School is committed to serving our local and global communities, and we hope to use this occasion not only for our own enjoyment, but also to help support three key charitable projects which the pupils, staff and parents are driving

  • Makimei Orphanage in Kenya
  • Preventorio infantil Nuestra Señora del Amparo Real de Gandía
  • Wells for Senegal

The spirit of giving is strong in our community and the lessons of charity, kindness and support imparted to our children are very much a part of the foundation at our School. We are delighted in the number of offers of support from local businesses that we have already received. Please come and join us for what will be a truly amazing afternoon.”
