BayRadio | September 10, 2019

PROPERTY prices in Spain increased by average of 7.05 per cent in the first half of the year putting the typical price of a square metre at €2,363, according to the latest report by Grupo Tecnocasa and the Universidad Pompeu Fabra (UPF).

The study also reveals that house price growth is no longer greatest in the country’s biggest cities. In fact in Barcelona property price rises in the first half of the year were generally below the national average.

The Catalan capital nevertheless remains the most expensive place to acquire a home in Spain, with the price of a square metre standing at €3,190 euros. Madrid has the second priciest homes at €2,720.
