Airport passenger numbers rise 4% in August

The number of passengers using Spanish airports rose 4% in August, according to data released by operator AENA.

29.4 million passengers used the national network with Madrid being the nation’s busiest. The number of aircraft movements also rose 1.4% to over 230,000.

Freight volumes also increased, with 83,700 tonnes of air freight arriving in Spain last month.
