Hotels in Spain demand payment from Thomas Cook holidaymakers

Holidaymakers booked with Thomas Cook are discovering that some hotels in Spain are demanding that THEY pay the bill, now the travel firm’s gone bust.

At the same time many tourists arriving for the start of their holidays found the hotel reservations they made through the company weren’t valid.

A 28 year old woman from Bolton, on holiday with family in Tenerife, claims she’s being forced by her hotel to cough up £1,000 owed to them by Thomas Cook or they’ll be forced to leave.

And a young Scottish family who’d already paid for their stay, say they were turfed out of a Benidorm hotel due to fears the travel company wouldn’t settle its bills.
