An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 hit the Costa Blanca

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 hit the Costa Blanca on Saturday morning.

People described hearing “rumbling” then doors and windows “shaking” when the earthquake hit Torrevieja and surrounding areas at 5.50am.

The earthquake’s epicentre was San Miguel de Salinas and website earthquake-report.com says the area is known for being one of the seismically most active areas of the Iberian Peninsula.
