On Saturday 18th May, Inn on the Green are holding a Fun day for all the family. Proceeds to go to HELP of Denia and Marina Alta and with proper Spanish weather having arrived we look forward to seeing all our friends and supporters. With a chance to try your hand at bowls, snooker and lots of stalls etc. to keep your interest it really is an event not to miss. Jalon Valley Help Annual May Fayre from 10am til 2pm. Rastro site in Jalon. Caribbean Theme with entertainment from Poco Loco Steel Band, Prize for best decorated stall. Wide variety of stalls, Limbo Competition, Food stalls, Raffle.

Books Costa Blanca and Teletic are proud to announce that are presenting a charity night at the Casino Bar in the town of Pego, in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The rock guitarist and all round entertainer Jools Cooper will be providing us with incredible music and entertainment. Among the bands he has worked with in some capacity are Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep, Motörhead, Hawkwind, The Real Thing, Cliff Richard, YES, Slade, AC/DC, Osibisa, Paul Young and Leo Sayer as well as being the lead of the famous Rockets.
We will also be holding a grand raffle on the night, which has been overwhelmingly supported by local business, the raffle alone is worth the price of entry to the event.
The charity night is being held to raise funds for the CYSTIC FIBROSIS TRUST, which is a research charity fighting to combat this awful illness that affects so many children and young people, Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening inherited disease, affecting almost 10,000 people in the UK alone. You can’t catch or develop CF, it’s something you’re born with and most cases in the UK are now diagnosed soon after birth.
It mainly affects the lungs and so causes breathing difficulties, a normal cold to a healthy person can be cured quickly but it means weeks of antibiotics to C.F sufferers, Just to prove how dedicated they are and how hard they work, in 1964 Cystic Fibrosis sufferers would normally not live to their 5th birthday, now they are living into their 40,s If you or someone you know has been recently diagnosed with CF it can be devastating, help with information and support is available from www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

In 2008, barbershop (or singing four part harmony a cappella style) was virtually unknown in Spain, so the Spanish Association of Barbershop Singers (SABS) was formed to help promote this unique artform. As part of an ongoing programme to encourage more people to take up what is a fantastic hobby, we are organising a series of ‘Learn to Sing Harmony in a Day’ events, the second of which will be at Marcia’s Dance Centre in Calpe on Wednesday, 22 May 2013.
The aim is for people to learn a song during the day and to perform it to their family and friends in the evening. In our experience, people are so taken with this kind of singing that they want to carry on and join a chorus, so we are hoping that a new chorus will be created in the Calpe area as a result. Both men and women are welcome to join us.
Each year, we hold our annual convention and the next one is in Calpe, from 3-6 April 2014. If you would like to find out more about the Association, please go to our website: www.sabs.es.

There will be a rastro organised by the Gandia Area Social Club in aid of the animal charity PEPA, on 25th May 9am – 1pm.
Location: Viva España Restaurant (on the N332 Km 216, on the left direction Oliva to Gandia).
There will be stalls selling all types of goods – New, Second Hand, Artisan, Pet Supplies, plants and much more.

Car Treasure Hunt in aid of PEPA – Come and join in for a pleasurable, interesting drive through the beautiful and historic Albaida Valley, terminating at the L’Irlandes Bar/Restaurant, Castello de Rugat for lunch at 14.30hrs (if required). Prizes are awarded based on the number of correct answers to the clues – and not on the time taken to complete the treasure hunt. It’s not a race. There will be plenty of time to complete the route and to even stop for a coffee en route if you want!

9th June
International Moraira Music Festival to be held on Moraira seafront. This year’s line up includes some excellent local acts and the headlining band are an international recording group called “Chess” who are famous for their “Queen” tribute show as well as original material. This will be a spectacular event not to be missed and the Lions club have been invited to collect donations to support local needy causes.
MABS PICNIC IN THE PARK – New Vintage Restaurant (next to MABS Centre), San Javier – 6:00 pm.
Our 5th annual party with lots of great entertainment: Barrington, Gerry Jones, Classic Rock Band, Elvis tribute, ITO & The Trails and Suzi G. Traditional Barn Dance on June 22nd in the Brevis restaurant, Sol Park, Moraira. This will be a good old fashioned barn dance with square dancing featuring the multi talented “Shamrockers” with Aileen Lightfoot calling the dances and playing the fiddle. This event has proved to be very popular in recent years and as numbers are limited it is recommended to book your tickets early for a great evening of fun, food, dancing and entertainment.
