Gospel Choir JOYFUL Costablanca Celebrates It’s 1st Lustrum

Five years ago JOYFUL Gospel Costablanca first appeared on stage at Auditorio de la
Mediterránia in La Nucia as a guest choir during the concert of the former “Vrijdagkoor”
led by Rob Barendsma. The choir existed for only 2 months and only had 10 members but
their leaders Ruth & Aureo already dared to present themselves to the general public. “You
just have to believe in your singers, although we looked a bit like David and Goliath.” The
small gospel choir were not impressed by the 70-strong choir behind them. With nodding
knees and sweaty hands they took the big stage, popped out various gospels and got the
600 people in the room out of their seats and singing along and clapping to the catchy
gospel sounds of among others Oh Happy Day and Amen.
The ice was broken. Now – five years and many performances both at home and abroad, at
events, weddings, funerals and concerts further they celebrate their 5th year anniversary
on Friday, June 7. They will celebrate during a Lunch Concert with BBQ and salad bar in the
atmospheric Restaurant La Foccacia, Carretera CV 760, km5 between Altea and La Nucia.
The price is € 20 per person and the party starts at 2 p.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. There are
also options for vegetarians. Please state this when booking. At the same time you can
