Denia’s newly-built bus station has finally arrived and will open in May.
Residents of the municipality and all the passengers who arrive in the capital of the Marina Alta will see for themselves the new facilities that the town hall has built on land close to the Parque de Torrecremada.
The bus station has cost €278,398 but is only a temporary structure, which explains why the offices and toilet facilities are being housed in containers.
It will now allow for the complete redevelopment of the Plaza Archiduque Carlos which will eventually hold Denia’s modern transport hub that will include the permanent bus station, TRAM station and the future stop of the ‘Tren de la Costa.’
The Plaza Archiduque Carlos – previously used by the buses, and the accompanying levels of pollution – will become a fully landscaped area free of vehicles of any description.
The total cost of the project is around €550,000 and financed by the Valencian Community under a plan first put into operation nine years ago.
