Mayoral salaries published

The government has published the salaries of a number of the countries mayors, as part of an ongoing drive to increase transparency in political affairs.
According to the figures from the Ministry of Policy and Public Function, 225 mayors earn over €50,000 a year, with the mayor of Madrid – Manuela Carmena – earning over €102,000
However not all received substantial pay cheques – 53% of the countries mayors earn less than €20,000 and nearly a third do the job free of charge.
