Alphabeat - The Beat Is...

Alphabeat

The Beat Is... (released as The Spell in Denmark) is the second studio album by Danish pop group Alphabeat. The album was originally set to be release a week later in the UK, but now pushed back to a 2010 release. Alphabeat say their second album has moved away from the pop roots of their debut album, in favour of popular dance acts of the 1990s such as Snap! and Black Box. First single "The Spell" uses keyboard chords very similar to Cut 'N' Move's classic, "Get Serious", with band member Anders SG saying the song was especially inspired by Black Box song "I Don't Know Anybody Else". The second single, "Hole In My Heart", will precede the UK-release of the album.

On 27 January, 2010, the band announced through their Facebook that the UK and presumably international releases of the album, previously known as The Spell, would be retitled as The Beat Is....
