What’s On Guide 19th February 2017

This weekend the Calendars of Events are packed full of Tapas Routes and Gastronomy Weeks for you to experience and enjoy. The Carnival events start to make an appearance, but most parades will be held during the weekend of the 25th and 26th February to mark the start of Lent.

The 10th Tapas and 5th Gin Tonic Route starts in Crevillent, with almost 50 different tapas to try before the 19th March, and the 17th Cuina Menus start in Pinoso with 5 participating establishments. The first Carnival Contest Parade will take place in Torrevieja on Sunday, with the route going along the main shopping street of the Ramon Gallud from 16:00.

The 10th Guiame Tapas Route continues in Denia with 40 bars and restaurants offering a tapa and a drink for 3€, and the Calent Menus start in Altea where 5 restaurants will be offering specially prepared menus to mark the 400th anniversary of Altea. The Almond Blossom Festival continues in Alcalali, where there is the 2nd Tapas Route and daily Guided Visits of the Medieval Tower and the Ethnological Museum.

The Tapas Route continues in both Cehegin and Santiago de la Ribera, where both Tapas and Cocktails can be enjoyed. The Vermut Dances will take place at 12:30 in the Plaza de San Fancisco in Cartagena, as part of their Carnival programme. The 22nd edition of the Pure Breeds Horseshow, known as the Equimur, will take place at the IFEPA in Torre Pacheco, and UCAM will play at home against Real Valladolid on Saturday, kicking off at 16:00.
