Six suspected terrorists appear in Spanish court

BayRadio | October 16, 2018

Five Spaniards and one Turkish man appeared in the National Court of Madrid on Monday accused of collaborating with Kurdish guerrillas in Syria.

The prosecutor’s office requested that four of the alleged members of the Communist Resistance be given between two and eight years in prison for crimes of conspiracy and possession of prohibited weapons and explosives.

The fifth accused, Nizamettin Gul of Turkey, faces a possible three year jail term for the ‘glorification of the terrorist organisation Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

It has been reported Spaniards Roberto Garcia Vaquero, Carlos Javier del Val, Adrian Delgado Gonzalez, Alvaro Fernandez Ruiz and Pablo Diaz Ocampo, were members of the Leninist Marxist Reconstruction Communist Party, founded in 2009.

According to Spanish press reports, the prosecutor’s office argued Vaquero exercised the role of leader, and designed action plans, set objectives and imposed the party’s criteria on the rest of the members.
