Green List

Mainland Spain remains an amber destination

BRITISH travellers can enjoy a holiday on the Balearic Islands without having to quarantine on their return to the UK after June 30.
Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera are not on Boris Johnson’s government green travel list and considered safe places to travel – always popular with British travellers, holidaymakers will not have the 10-day self-isolation on their return – although they still need to take a Covid-19 test and a test is need before they leave.

Some 4 million Brits enjoyed a break on the islands in 2019 before the pandemic and tourist chiefs on the Balearics said the change was ’very good news’.

The rest of Spain remains on the UK’s amber list and travellers face 10 days of quarantine on their return taking Covid tests on or before day 2 of their return and another on or after day eight. They too must take a test before leaving.

The UK government is considering allowing people who have been fully vaccinated out of quarantine rules but this step has not yet been taken. The next review of the traffic light list of countries will be in three weeks.
