Hope 4 U Change (1)

Vall de Pop Ukrania is Now Hope4U Ukraine

Our community has grown tremendously and now reaches far beyond where Val de Pop Ukrania first started. To pay tribute to our purpose and all of us on the Costa Blanca working collectively towards helping those in need, we’ve changed our name.

Together, we continue to make a difference to the Ukrainian people. Hope4U stands firm in our collective resolve to be the change in our world and rise to the occasion to provide those with the single most important virtue in these tough times; Hope.

Bay Radio Goes to Poland With Hope 4 U Ukraine

As the fighting continues into its second month, over 3.5 million Ukrainians have been displaced from their homes. With EU member states Poland and Romania providing relief for the most vulnerable. Bay Radio in cooperation with Hope4U Ukraine have mobilised and made their way to the Polish-Ukrainian boarder in a large convoy of 9 vehicles; mostly a collection of willing volunteers. We thank them all.

We could not have asked for a better correspondent, Kal Sutherland who was the former General Manager of British Forces Broadcast Service and has spent time around the world covering global news for nearly 4 decades. We can trust that Kal will keep us up to the second on how our community’s efforts are making a difference to the lives of people affected by war.

Introduction to Hope4U Ukraine

Bay Radio Goes To Poland

Who We Are at Hope4U Ukraine

Putting His History to Work for the Future.

The Founder of Hope4U Ukraine, Richard Mcenery, has an extensive background in the armed forces. Having served in tours of Afghanistan and later starting a security logistics company, Richard is no stranger to conflict and the ramifications of it. Richard stands for what is right and just in the world while providing a rare human touch on every decision.

Using his history to build a better future, Hope4U was born and has quickly become a beacon in the darkest of days for some. Today, that light shines bright as we all hold the torch of unity, strength and hope for the Ukrainian people.

On The Move

Bay Radio Convoy On Their Way To Ukraine

Good Plan + Good Execution = Good Results

Early on the morning of March 24, a large group of volunteers loaded their own vehicles up with donations from across the Costa Blanca. The mass of supplies were coordinated using the Vall de Pop Facebook group here and Bay Radio’s communication channels.

Supplies included medicine, cosmetics and hygiene needs, infant care items, warm clothing and food stuffs. The plan was simple, do everything possible on the way to Poland. Not a single space was wasted.

Our own Bay Radio team made sure to place identifiers on our vehicles to signify that we are there on a dual purpose with the Press and Humanitarian Aid. Hoping to get as close to the Ukrainian boarder as we could in order to faithfully report back the magnitude of the situation. Thank you Katie at SR Print for our vehicle identifiers.

The Journey To Poland

Driven to Help Those In Need

Our group departed the Costa Blanca and drove the 2700 km to the edge of Ukraine on the Polish boarder. The team split driving duties as to make great time and spend the majority of their time on the ground in Krakow organising supplies and coordinating with the local rescue workers for the families they are returning to Spain with.

The Bay Radio Team documented the journey well with Kal giving us here at the studio updates every hour all in anticipation to getting to work as soon as the team arrived. We have to thank the careful planning and efforts of Vall de Pop Ukrania.

The organisers at Hope4U Ukraine have a long and distinguished history of logistical support in times of crisis. With the founding members active in Africa and providing logistical solutions in the most dangerous and delicate situations. Because of this, we’ve managed to get to Poland and be effective every minute of our the journey.

Bay Radio Making A Difference

We are Making a Big Difference!

Arrival to Krakow ment that our tired volunteers needed to quickly unload their donations so they could be put to work immediately. With the spirt of humanity, they worked together as a team to quickly off load and categorise every donation they’ve brought. Language barriers seem to fade away in a beautiful moment while everyone worked together for one common purpose.
