Tickets will be on sale for the new ‘low-cost AVE’
Tickets will be on sale for the new ‘low-cost AVE’ rail link from this Monday (January 27), even though the train will not start to run until April 6.
The long-awaited ‘AVLO’ – a cheaper version of Spain’s fastest rail service, but without buffet cars, 1st class, WiFi or any other frills – will, at first, only run between Madrid and Barcelona, with one of the three daily trains operating a connection in Zaragoza.
The direct links will take two-and-a-half hours to reach their destinations, whilst the one which stops in Zaragoza takes two hours and 45 minutes.
