According to Valencia’s Chamber of Commerce the Valencian community alone, saw a record number of holidaymakers, 29.5 million in 2019.

Collectively, they spent just over €13.5 billion, of this, 15.8%, or slightly more than €2.1bn, was spent in supermarkets.

This rises to nearly the total spend in the case of tourists who have holiday homes and do not need to spend on accommodation during their stay.

The Valencian community has some of the highest numbers of privately-owned tourist accommodation in the country.
