Spain has the most coronavirus infections among healthcare personnel

Spain has the most coronavirus infections among healthcare personnel.

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, 20% of those infected here are healthcare professionals.

In comparison in Italy that percentage is 10%, whereas in China it’s at 3.8% and in the USA at 3%.

The Ministry for Health says that the total number of infections in healthcare is 35,295, in addition, 37 healthcare professionals have lost their lives as a result of the pandemic in Spain.

According to the Medical Colleges Organisation, these figures are the result of the absence of ‘essential safety measures’ that should have ‘preserved the health of professionals’.

A spokesperson for the organisation said: “There were no masks for the health workers and when they arrived, many were defective also some doctors and health professionals are still waiting to be tested.

Some Costa del Sol and Mallorca beaches are set to re-open today for the first time in six weeks for parents and their children.

Local authorities have pointed out that the only people allowed onto the beach will be children under 15 with one of their parents or guardians who live no further than one kilometer away.

Swimming in the sea remains off-limits and all outings for children in Spain under the new guidelines will be limited to one a day and a maximum of an hour between 9a.m. and 9 p.m.

The Spanish Government will allow football clubs to conduct coronavirus tests so that the season can eventually resume.

La Liga is prepared to supply all clubs in the top two divisions with tests in order to test all their players and staff.

The idea of mid-May as a potential date is a best case scenario which is considered to be very optimistic, with a mid-June start date more likely.

National Police have made an example of a man who tried to circumvent the country’s strict lockdown orders during the coronavirus pandemic by “walking” his pet fish in order to get out of the house.

They posted a photo on their official Twitter account showing that they had issued a caution to the man who was caught with his pet goldfish fish in a bowl, in a warning to others who might be tempted to use the tactic.
