Entire Policia Local force quarantined in Alicante municipality after agent tests COVID-19 positive

All Policia Local in the inland Alicante municipality of Cocentaina have been put into self-isolation after an agent tested positive to COVID-19 last Friday.

The agent caught the virus in a private setting, but had been within a 2m distance of colleagues without a mask.

All agents have were put into self-isolation until today.

Municipal sources said public safety would not be affected, as Cocentaina’s Guardia Civil force can share responsibilities with the Policia Local.

Sources said the outbreak has not affected other local government departments.
