The regional government has announced additional measures to combat the rise in Covid-19 cases in the CITY of Valencia.
These come into force today and affect hostelry establishments, nightlife and other social aspects of life.
The action has been taken as the region recorded 358 new cases yesterday from the previous 24 hours, with 246 of these in Valencia province.
Health councillor Ana Barceló said bars, restaurants, discos and nightclubs in the city will have to close at 01.30.
Communal zones in hotels and tourism accommodation can only be used at 60% capacity.
Meetings of families and friends can only bring together a maximum of 15 people, and family visits to residential care homes have been suspended.
She said most of the new outbreaks were due to social contact and ‘almost half of them were occurring between people aged 15 to 34’.
