Spain has recorded 19,382 new COVID-19 infections by PCR since last Friday.
In the last 24 hours, the figure stands at 2,060 – a figure likely to be inflated as new data comes in over the next few days.
A total of 34 new deaths have been recorded.
Hospital admissions over the last seven days are at 1,294 – or 0.032% of total new cases
Spain’s director of health emergencies, Fernando Simon, said the country needed to take the ‘utmost caution’ over the next few weeks.
He said more than 5,484 people are currently in hospital, with 659 in intensive care.
