DENIA: Top tourist destination in Valencian Community, data shows

BayRadio | September 30, 2020

Denia was the only city in the Valencian community to have a majority occupation of its hotels in August.

That is according to HOSBEC, the leading tourism and hotel association in the Valencian community. It is ranked 6 out of 20 of Spain’s top 20 destinations, placed above Valencia city (16) and Alicante (20).

Denia’s hotels reached 73.02% occupation in the month of August, an impressive rating as most hotels struggle to cope under the coronavirus.

The positive tourism rates could be a reflection of Valencian community having the lowest rates of Covid 19 cases in all of Spain. Since the coronavirus pandemic, tourism hotspots have been crippled has resorts such as Benidorm were deserted over the summer season.
