Winds up to 90km/h predicted for Alicante.

Spain’s met office AEMET has issued an orange weather warning for nearly all of the Spanish mainland and Balearic Islands from Thursday-Saturday.

The peak of the stormy conditions will hit on Friday, with parts of the Valencian Community on a more severe orange warning for 90km/h winds from 10am until midnight.

Winds between 89-102 km/h are classified as ‘gale force 10’ on the Beaufort scale – meaning affected residents will experience ‘considerable’ structural damage and trees may be uprooted.

See Aemet’s warnings for more info.
