An 11-year-old boy could be Vallanca’s (pop. 126) saviour after his viral video led 200 people to offer to take over its only pub.

Ion Pesquera and his mother moved to Vallanca from Denia just weeks ago, before they both learned the village’s only bar would imminently close.

The pub also serves as a hotel, where tourists can also rent bicycles and ‘eat ice cream’, according to Ion’s now-viral video.

Ion’s mother recently bought a house in Vallanca after ‘falling in love’ with the mountainous village.

However, a few weekends ago, the bar’s owner said they had run it for many years and were about to let it close.

Ion was inspired to make a video, begging Twitter users to come to Vallanca and take over the bar.

The video has been watched over 400k times now and been a massive marketing success.

Vallanca’s mayor, Ruth Sánchez, said more than 200 offers have been made by prospective owners of the bar – the building is owned by the Town Hall, who rent it out for business.

“We hope to have a new owner soon,” she said.
