Spain has become one of 6 countries in the world to officially diagnose 1,000,000 infections of COVID-19.

This evening, Spain’s daily coronavirus update pushed the country’s total infections to 1,005,295.

Since 31st January, 2020, figures show 165,049 people have been hopsitalised with the virus and 34,366 have lost their lives.

Spain’s government records solely PCR diagnoses of coronavirus – which differ with testing protocols in other countries that include antibody or antigen tests.

The USA became the first country to reach the million-case milestone back in April. Now India, Brazil, Russia and Argentina have also reached that threshold, according to Worldometer.com.
