The president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, has given negative in the PCR test of the coronavirus to which he had undergone yesterday morning in the medical service of Moncloa although he must remain in quarantine until the 24th December.

Following the protocol of surveillance and control of Covid-19 approved by the Spanish health authorities and as a result of the negative result of this test, the president will continue with the quarantine, despite having tested negative for coronavirus, on the grounds that it was the only close contact of the Spanish delegation with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, at the Paris meeting on the 14th December.

“During the quarantine, President Sánchez will be given the proper medical follow-up of these situations, which involves monitoring of his state of health before the appearance of any symptoms compatible with COVID-19 and new PCR closer to the end of the quarantine”.
