The autonomous communities tighten up their measures for Christmas in the face of the increase of coronavirus infections and look at the example of Valencia

BayRadio | December 18, 2020

Cataluña, Castilla y León and Andalucía announce this Friday new restrictions during the Christmas holidays to face the rise of coronavirus infections. Millions of Spaniards still doubt whether they will be able to regroup with their families, while the example of the Valencian Community, which is closed until the 15th January, suggests the worst forecasts.

The upward trend of coronavirus infection can blow up the Christmas plans of millions of Spaniards in the next few hours.

Cataluña today announces new restrictions on hospitality. But the first blow has already arrived from the Valencian Community, which closes peripherally until the 15th January.

It will be forbidden to enter and leave the Valencian Community during Christmas. No family trips or visits from relatives. Today we will know if other communities also choose to do so. It is expected that this Friday the data of Andalucía and Castilla y León will be shared.

Health Minister Salvador Illa has scheduled an appearance at 12 pm in which everything indicates that he will call for individual responsibility since the trend is worsening in all regions and the incidence has already been rising for a week. Right now the impact of coronavirus in Spain is at 207 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
