New restrictions and curfew in Valencia, Galicia, Asturias, Cataluña and Navarra

BayRadio | January 20, 2021

Navarra has decreed the closure of the interior of the hospitality sector as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus. This has happened a few hours after Valencia decreed the total closure of the hospitality sector. Here you can see the new restrictions and measures in all the autonomous communities.

Some autonomous communities have begun to take drastic measures and new restrictions to curb the advance of coronavirus, whose data are already truly alarming throughout Spain.

In addition, several autonomous communities are pressuring the central government to modify the decree of the state of alarm and to bring forward the curfew. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, said that this issue will be discussed today, Wednesday, in the Inter-territorial Health Council.

The last community to take measures has been Valencia, which has decreed the total closure of the hospitality sector. Castilla y León, for its part, has been the first to apply the advance of the curfew to 20:00 h, even without being allowed in the current state of alarm and supported by the Canary Islands, Murcia, Cantabria, Andalusia and Madrid.

The Basque Country proposes a curfew at 21:00 h and even the president of Castilla-La Mancha, the socialist Emiliano García-Page has been critical of the government’s management. For its part, Cataluña has asked for more resources to “be able to make decisions”.

These are all the measures and restrictions in the autonomous communities:

Comunidad Valenciana

The Generalitat has decreed the total closure of the hospitality industry in view of the worrying increase in the contagion of coronavirus in the Valencian Community. It has also fixed the closing of shops at 18:00 h, except in the case of food stores, pharmacies and other essential businesses. These restrictions will enter into force on Thursday, January 21, at 00:00 h and will remain in force for 14 days.

Galicia

Among the new measures in Galicia they have decided to close the hospitality and non-essential activities in three municipalities of more than 10,000 inhabitants with a cumulative incidence of more than 1,000: Arteixo, Viveiro and Xinzo.

In addition, 55 concessions go to the maximum level of restrictions, with the closure of the interiors of the hospitality sector and the terraces to 50%. In addition, the perimeter closure of all localities is decreed, where entry or exit can only be done for a justified reason.

Castilla-La Mancha

With an incidence of more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, it has been decided that no one may enter or leave the municipalities except for justified reasons. In addition, all non-essential activity will be closed and a curfew will be set at 22:00.

Murcia

Closing of the hospitality sector, shopping centres and other non-essential activities. The region has added 971 new positive this Monday. In addition, there is an outbreak at Reina Sofia Hospital that affects a dozen patients.

Andalucía

The cumulative incidence in the region has doubled in the last week and all the provincial capitals, except Jaen and Seville, already exceed the limit established by the Andalusian government for the perimeter closure. The Board will approve the new measure today, Wednesday.

Madrid

In the last 24 hours, ICU admissions have exceeded half a thousand patients. The limitation of mobility already affects 20% of the population of Madrid. The curfew is established at 23:00 hours.

Castilla y León

They have applied the curfew at 20:00 until it is decided in court whether it is possible despite going against the established curfew. There is perimeter closure in all provinces and meetings are limited to four people.

Cataluña

The perimeter confinement of all municipalities is maintained, as well as the curfew at 22:00 hours.

Asturias

New restrictions in three municipalities: Avilés, Corvera and Castrillón, with almost 115,000 inhabitants, around 10% of the population of the Principality. Perimeter closure of these municipalities, as well as the shopping centres, except in the case of essential activities, and that in shops of more than 300 square meters located outside large areas the capacity is reduced to 20%.

País Vasco

Bilbao is approaching the perimeter closure with around 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, as well as thirty other municipalities.

Navarra

Closure of the interior of the hospitality sector, although the terraces are kept open until 21 hours. Home delivery orders can be made until 22.30. Social gatherings in houses are also prohibited. Housing will be limited to cohabitants, with exceptions, such as people living alone or dependents.
