Every last Sunday of this month the clocks are brought forward with the intention of making better use of the sunlight.
In 2019, the European Parliament approved that in 2021 the clock change would come to an end in the EU allowing each country to choose whether to maintain daylight saving time or winter time. However, this decision seems to be delayed and it seems the choice of one hour or another isn’t as simple.
Coinciding with the oil crisis in 1974 several countries decided to adapt the clock to take advantage of natural sunlight and spend less electricity. But over the years this measure has been questioned.
