Covid: Valencia extends night curfew to more towns. New restrictions in force until August 16

THE regional government of Valencia has announced new health rules designed to help combat the spread of Covid-19 – including extending the night curfew to more communities.

Ximo Puig, the Valencia president, said restrictions scheduled to expire on Monday July 26 would remain in force until at least August 16.

And the number of municipalities affected by the 01.00 to 06.00 nightly curfew will be increased, around half the region will now be subject to the measure if the move gets legal blessing.

Closing time for bars, cafes and restaurants remains at 00.30 with a midnight limit on sales, while nightclubs can only open as a bar or restaurant. The limit on social gatherings remains at 10 people.

The authority has asked the Supreme Court of Valencia to authorise the following locations be subject to the night curfew:

Alicante : Alfàs del Pi, Alacant, Banyeres de Mariola, Benidorm, Callosa d’En Sarrià, Callosa de Segura, Calp, Dénia, Gata de Gorgos, La Nuncia, Muro de Alcoy, Ondara, Pego, Santa Pola, Sant Vicent del Raspeig , Sax, Teulada and Vila Joiosa.

Castellón : Alcalà de Xivert, Almenara, Benicassim, Borriana, Borriol, Onda,
Oropesa del Mar, Peníscola, Torreblanca, Vila-real and Vinaròs.

Valencia : Albal, Alboraya, Alcàsser, Aldaia, Alfafar, Alginet, Almussafes,
Benaguasil, Benetússer, Benifaió, Bétera, Buñol, Burjassot, Canals, Chiva, Foios, Gandia, Godella, L’Eliana, L’Olleria, Manises, Massamagrell, Massanassa, Meliana, Mislata, Museros, Oliva, Paiporta, Paterna, Picassent, Pobla de Farnals, Pobla de Vallbona, Puçol, Puig, Rafelbunyol, Requena, Riba-roja de Túria, Rocafort, Sagunto, Silla, Sueca, Tavernes de la Valldigna , Turís, Utiel, València, Vilamarxant, Xeraco and Xirivella.
