Andalucia will apply for the European Union (EU) covid certificate to be able to access the interior in nightlife venues. The Committee of Experts has also decided to extend the curfew measures adopted two weeks ago.

In the event of not having the certificate, the Government of Andalucia has decided that an antigen test or negative PCR can also be accredited.

Extension of the curfew

It has also been proposed to extend the measures in force since 22 July, which establish a curfew and modify the seating capacity.

The Committee of Experts said that “the upward trend of the pandemic in recent weeks puts Andalucia at a medium risk level, although with certain signs of stabilization,” as the Minister of Health and Families said at the end of the meeting.

The measures will enter into force at 00.00 on 5 August, and the High Impact Territorial Committees will be held next Wednesday. The High Impact Regional Committee on Public Health will continue to carry out a continuous daily assessment of all parameters and is expected to meet again within two weeks.

Residential restrictions

The Committee of Experts has also proposed measures to control the transmission of Sars-CoV-2 infections in nursing homes. It has been agreed that weekly diagnostic tests will be carried out on workers who are not vaccinated against coronavirus and, in centres where at least one confirmed case is registered, the use of the mask will be mandatory, as it is currently compulsory for workers.

The counselor pointed out that “although the cases confirmed in recent weeks have minimal impact at the healthcare level, it is of vital importance to strengthen this environment”.
