Marina Alta Incidence

The update of data by municipalities and health departments made this morning by the Ministry of Health leaves a positive and a negative news in the Marina Alta. The first is that the incidence of Covid-19 continues to fall, and it is now falling faster. The negative news is that in the last four days a new death has been recorded, in Pego. It is the ninth in this municipality since the pandemic began and number 207 in the whole region.

In the four days since the previous update the region has added 31 infections. In the previous week’s updates, it had totaled 72 and 69. The level of spread is now, therefore, less than half. With this, the Marina Alta today leaves the high level risk of contagion (from 150 active cases per 100,000 inhabitants) and goes to the mid level, with an accumulated incidence in 14 days of 127.18.

Also, there is only one municipality at extreme risk (Teulada, with 283.74 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

As for the distribution of new infections today, they are distributed as follows: 9 in Denia; 6 in Xàbia; 3 in Calp, Benissa and Pedreguer; 2 in Teulada and Xaló; and 1 in Pego, El Verger, Orba and Vall d’Alcalà.
