The President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, this Wednesday has spoken in Congress of the good data of the employment and the economic recovery in which, he has said, “Spain is already immersed”.

“The recovery is being strong and fast thanks to the social democratic measures adopted by this executive branch, unlike the neoliberal prescriptions applied by the PP after the 2008 crisis,” he said, before highlighting the good data on unemployment.

“We have been down in unemployment for eight months in a row, youth unemployment has decreased, as well as female unemployment,” explained Pedro Sánchez. “The working population is higher than that of the financial crisis of 2018”. This optimism contrasts with the opinion of entities such as the Banco de España, which announced a few days ago that it would revise Spain’s growth forecasts for 2021 and 2022.

Pedro Sánchez, in addition, highlighted the good evolution of the coronavirus pandemic in Spain, with an incidence “far below” of other European countries thanks to the “high vaccination rate” and “low negationism”, and has predicted that “This Christmas is going to be better than last”.

The leader of the opposition, Pablo Casado, has gone along with these statements refuting them one by one during the reply. The ‘popular’ has said, among other things, that “in the social cuts applied by Zapatero in 2010” the current president of the Government was then deputy “and voted in favor of them”.

“You voted to freeze pensions, cut civil servants’ salaries, cut health care… For neoliberalism the PSOE, “he assured.

The president of the PP has accused Sánchez of speaking of a recovery that is “false” and has asked him to stop being “the black sheep of Europe”.
