The Spanish Medicines Agency authorizes the phase II clinical trial of the Spanish vaccine against Covid-19

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has attended the presentation of the PERTE for ‘Health Vanguard’ at the Carlos III Health Center. During his speech at the event, President Sánchez said that we are currently living in a moment of “enormous importance”.

“We are facing a critical moment and, therefore, enormous opportunities in which we have to learn, we have the resources, which are the financial instruments that Spain fought so hard for at the European Council, which are European funds and there are also some lessons we need to learn, “said Pedro Sánchez.

From the Government’s point of view, he wished to convey his gratitude “and commitment” of the Government to this project “so important for our country”.

The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Products has just authorized this morning the phase II clinical trial of the vaccine of the Spanish company Hipra against covid-19, is an extraordinary news for science, for Spanish society”.

This second phase will be carried out in ten hospitals and with more than 1,000 volunteers “it will receive EUR 15 million in aid from the government, as we approved two weeks ago in the Council of Ministers, it is one more reason to feel proud of the country and to defend the role of science”
