During the early hours of this Wednesday, the body of a 17-year-old girl who had been missing for 24 hours has been found in the storage room of a house in the town of Totana, in Murcia. The Guardia Civil is investigating what happened as a case of gender-based violence and a 19-year-old male has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the murder.

The Guardia Civil is investigating the facts as a case of gender-based violence, although there are no previous complaints. The family of the 17-year-old reported her disappearance this Tuesday and her body has been located in the storage room of the young man’s home in Totana about three in the morning this Wednesday. Before 8:00 this morning the body was moved in the presence of the judicial authority

The detainee is the ex of the young woman and was arrested around three in the morning after the officers came to his home and found the young woman in the storage room of the house with signs of violence.

The Government Delegation against Violencia Machista has confirmed that this murder is a new gender-based crime, the third so far this year. The victim had no minor children and there were no previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged perpetrator.

The girl had been missing for 24 hours and her body was found this morning with stab wounds in the storage room of a house in Totana. The City of Totana has declared this Wednesday an official day of mourning for this gender-based crime.
