Omicron Variant

The new subvariants of the omni variant of COVID-19 are already in most infections this summer. The ravages of the strains continue to be noticed, and that is, each sequel is more contagious than the previous one. After the BA.2 subvariant became dominant in many countries, the new BA.4 and BA.5 have taken advantage. The latter has been described by experts as the ‘Houdini variant’, since it is a true “artist of escapism”.

This was indicated by the infectious disease specialist at the University of California, Peter Chin-Hong, in The New York Times. He is credited with the name of the legendary escapist for being a “stealthy virus that goes unnoticed”. BA. 5 is the dominant variant of the coronavirus in much of the world. Its worst consequence, it is able to re-infect a patient a few weeks after the first contagion.

Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said those who became infected with the BA variants. 1 and BA. 2 of COVID-19, may soon become infected with BA.4 and BA. 5. They have a much stronger transmissibility than the other subvariants.
