€50 voucher – Ourense hospitality recovery plan

BayRadio | October 26, 2020

The hospitality industry has been one of the hardest hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The mayor of Ourense has suggested a new plan to prop up the bars and restaurants as they struggle to survive from the effects of COVID-19.

In a €5 million package plan, he has suggested offering €50 to each resident of Ourense to be spent only in bars and restaurants.

This is positive news to the hospitality industry, many of whom are facing permanent closure as they struggling to cope with rental costs and social distancing regulations.

Added to their concerns are the new state of alarm regulations in which many of the 17 autonomous regions in Spain have imposed further restrictions and curfews.

The ambitious new plan has caught the attention of the residents and those living in neighbouring communities. The policy still requires further study but it is hoping to be available from April to June in 2021.
