Frost in Alicante as temperatures fall to -5.7°C

Night-time temperatures have begun to fall sharply, with mountains in the interior of Alicante registering -5.7°C on Sunday.

Frost has hit the province of Alicante over the weekend, following an abnormal week of temperatures that peaked at 27°C in Alicante city last Tuesday.

Valleys and mountains in the interior of Alicante have seen the lowest temperatures – the Alto Vinalopó comarca behind Alcoi and Elda registered -4°C in the early hours of today (Monday).

The coldest temperature were recorded on Sunday morning – -5.7°C – in the Foia Ampla de Mariola region of the Serra de Mariola mountains.
