Scientists from Spain are working with Texas State University on developing a Coronavirus vaccination. A team from the Farming and Food Technology and Research Institute's Animal Health Centre in Bellaterra in Barcelona province are attempting to recreate the deadly virus that originated in Wuhan, China to test the new vaccine. Providing funding can be found the whole process could take around six months.

Spain’s National Centre for Microbiology has confirmed the first case of coronavirus in a man quarantined on the remote island of La Gomera in the Canaries. He was one of five people taken into observation on the island after it was found they had come into contact, before travelling to the Canaries, with a German man who was diagnosed with the virus.

Prosecutors are asking for eight years imprisonment for former president of Madrid, Ignacio González, should he be found guilty of corruption. The Public Prosecutor’s Office as presented formal charges of fraud and embezzlement of public funds between 2012 and 2014, valued at between 6 to 9 million euros. Mr González denies any wrongdoing.
