Actor James Michael Tyler who plays Gunther in ‘Friends’ sadly dies

James Michael Tyler, the actor who gave life to Gunther, the Central Perk café manager on the popular series Friends, died at age 59 at his home in Los Angeles yesterday Sunday, after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“The world knew him as Gunther, the seventh of the ‘Friends’ of the hit series, but Michael’s loved ones knew him as an actor, musician, cancer advocate and beloved husband. Michael loved live music, encouraged his Clemson Tigers and often found himself immersed in fun and unplanned adventures, “says the statement from his agency, picked up by Europa Press.

“If you met him once, you made a friend for life,” says the statement issued by his agency, which collects Europa Press.
