Spanish police have broken up a criminal organisation that illegally shipped 2,500 tonnes of toxic waste from the Canary Islands all over West Africa. An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 hit the Costa Blanca on Saturday morning. People described hearing "rumbling" then doors and windows "shaking" when the earthquake hit Torrevieja and surrounding areas at 5.50am. The earthquake's epicentre was San Miguel de Salinas and website earthquake-report.com says the area is known for being one of the seismically most active areas of the Iberian Peninsula.

The country’s paper manufacturing sector, including toilet paper, has grew by 1.1% in the first four months of 2020, despite COVID-19. The production of toilet and sanitary paper grew by 1.6% alone, with an 11.4% increase in April.
