Jet2 has cancelled all flights to the Balearic Islands this summer. And it has extended the suspension of package holidays and flights to mainland Spain and the Canaries until September 13. This is an overall increase of 9,658 against Wednesday, although the ministry claims that 3,781 of these infections occurred in the previous 24 hours. The Spanish Health Minister Salvador Illa says the first doses of Coronavirus vaccine could be available in Spain ‘by the end of December’ this year. Spain has agreed with the European Commission to participate in the plan to purchase up to 400m doses for EU countries from the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, as soon as the vaccine is confirmed to be safe and effective.
