Spain’s coalition government have announced a plan to give civil servants a two percent pay raise backdated to Jan. 1. Regional Policy Minister Carolina Darias said the pay hike, which unions had requested prior to the announcement of PSOE Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s cabinet, will be introduced as soon as possible. The measure will benefit 2.5 million public sector workers.

Police have arrested five Brits and are looking for another one after seizing three tonnes of cannabis resin during a raid off Costa del Sol.
