A ‘mobile’ speed camera has been has been purchased by Torrevieja town hall to dissuade drivers from breaking the speed limit around the town. Mayor Eduardo Dolón said local police force would start to use the ‘Velolaser’ this week and the portable camera could be set up anywhere around the municipality.

An alleged gangmaster has been arrested after an illegal worker died of heatstroke at the weekend. The victim is 42-year-old man from Nicaragua, who was working in fields near Lorca in temperatures that reached 44°C.
