A hoax bomb threat has caused the evacuation of employees from the Amazon headquarters in Madrid yesterday morning. The retail giant’s HQ based in the Arganzuela district was cleared after a call was received about a suspicious item. The site was subsequently evacuated and an inspection carried out, workers were able to return to their posts shortly before 1:00pm.
A Spanish court has ruled that a former head of Mexico's state oil company must remain in custody while an extradition case is heard against him. A judge ruled that Emilio Lozoya is a flight risk, according to a statement from the National Court in Madrid. Mexico issued international arrest warrants against Lozoya last year as a result of corruption investigations. Lozoya has denied wrongdoing.
The Canarian Health Department confirmed yesterday that the patient in La Gomera’s hospital has now tested negative for coronavirus, now know as, COVID-19. Brussels is raising its 2020 growth forecast for Spain to 1.6%, one tenth of a point higher than its previous estimate.
