Madrid's Barajas airport was closed at lunchtime due to the presence of unauthorized drones near the facility yesterday. The Transportation Ministry decision to close the airspace was made just after 12.30pm CET after two pilots reported the presence of drones near the runways. Incoming flights were diverted to other airports, while all flights leaving were suspended, upwards of 26 flights were affected.
