A court in Brussels has refused an appeal by former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont to have his European Arrest Warrant quashed. In their ruling they said they were unable to cancel the warrant for Mr. Puigdemont and Toni Comín until the European Parliament comes to it’s ruling regarding their political immunity. Both Mr Puigdemont and Mr Comin have been in self-imposed exile since the Catalan region's failed independence bid.

EU competition regulators have widened their investigation into additional incentives granted by Spanish authorities to Ryanair and other airlines operating at two airports in Catalonia. The European Commission launched an investigation in 2013 into marketing schemes offered to airlines operating at the Girona-Costa Brava and Reus airports, about 120 km from Barcelona.

Forcadell, the former parliament speaker, was granted 3 days of leave each week for 9 hours each day in order to take care of her mother, as laid out in the Spanish constitution. Former minister Bassa was also given permission to take care of an elderly relative under the same rules.
