EU competition regulators have widened their investigation into additional incentives granted by Spanish authorities to Ryanair and other airlines operating at two airports in Catalonia. The European Commission launched an investigation in 2013 into marketing schemes offered to airlines operating at the Girona-Costa Brava and Reus airports, about 120 km from Barcelona.

National Police have arrested the parents of a 22-month-old baby girl on the Costa Blanca for child neglect after the toddler was admitted to hospital in serious condition for cannabis poisoning. The child had been taken to Villajoyosa Hospital by her parents after she fell unconscious at home. She was then transferred to the Pediatric ICU of Alicante Hospital.
